Portrait of a Lady (After Louis Leopold Boilly) (2019), Ewa Juszkiewicz

We are delighted to announce the sale of "Portrait of a Lady (After Louis Leopold Boilly" (2019), by Ewa Juszkiewicz, at Christie’s 21st Century Evening auction on May 10. The painting was donated anonymously, proceeds from the sale to benefit POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews.

The hammer price of 1,560,000 (per Christie’s) set a record for a work of this artist.

The Board of Directors of American Friends of POLIN Museum would like to thank everyone who made this auction a success. Our Art Auction Committee (Victor Markowicz, Chair, Elizabeth Szancer, and Roman Rewald) who worked closely with Bartosz Dymarek, Agnieszka Dulęba, and Anna Szcześniak of the Department of Development of the Association of the Jewish Historical Institute of Poland and Izabela Grocholski of Christie’s. 

May this be the first of many such collaborative successes in support of POLIN Museum.
