Christie’s 21st-Century Evening Sale for the benefit of POLIN Museum

Please join the American Friends of POLIN Museum on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at Christie’s 21st-Century Evening Sale. Ewa Juszkiewicz’s painting Portrait of a Lady (After Louis Leopold Boilly), which was donated to the American Friends by an anonymous donor, will be auctioned, and all proceeds will benefit POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews. This Polish artist is known for her adept appropriations of historical portrait paintings. In this work, an exquisite example of the artist’s masterful brushwork, she questions gender and class representations within the realm of eighteenth- and nineteenth-century European painting.
